Illinois HoopStars is a Travel/AAU Basketball program ranging from grades 3 to 11 or ages 8-17. Participating in competitive tournaments throughout the Chicago land area & surrounding states. Middle school seasons take place in fall; (august, September, Oct & Nov.), Winter (Dec,Jan,Feb) Spring/Summer (Mar,Apr,May,Jun & July). High school season take place in spring & summer. Starting in mid March, April, May taking a break in June for high school summer leagues continuing back in June ending in July or early august. Training, travel & technology.
Mission Statement:
Main mission of the Illinois HoopStars is to aid in the development of youth athletes through competition. Assisting them in gaining life skills to reach their maximum potential on and off the court, and becoming future leaders.
History:
Illinois HoopStars began in 2002 by Lynda Paul mother of 2009 Illinois MR. Basketball Brandon Paul. She used the program to assist her sons in gaining collegiate exposure, both landing D1 basketball scholarships. Reestablished in 2018 by Cliff Paul her oldest son & Dalé Omotoyinbo. The two partners relationship date back from school days at the University of Illinois, running after school youth programs & basketball camps through the Chicago land area.
